Day #3: Wild Eyes
Activity 1:
Kea
I chose to adopt the kea:
The kea is a very unusual parrot, known for it’s large, strong- flying olive green appearance and its major curiosity. It is the world’s only alpine parrot and is also one of the world’s most intelligent birds. As an omnivore it searches widely for food in trees, shoots, shrubs, fruit, leaves, nectar and seeds, they dig in the soil for insects larvae and plant tubers. They also search rotten logs for huhu grubs especially in rimu forests and logged pine plantations. Kea’s mainly nest within a native forest. Their natural habitat includes all types of native forest such as sub-line scrub, tussock and herb filled.

Here are reasons why I think New Zealand should be a predator free country:
From my perspective I do not think killing the predators would be a good Idea instead they should just take them away. Seeing that taking them away would be an impossible task, so I can see why we need to kill them, simply because it would do a great amount of good for our environment and wildlife because of how the possums are destroying our trees, and also it ruins the scenery and the beauty of our nature and is endangering or native birds.
